78 rear window motor amp draw ?

I have a 78 that didn,t have an electric rear window but now I do. Was wondering if you know what amps the motor might draw so I can get the right gauge wire. My electric skills suck . I,m just doing switch from dash , no key back switch.

It came with electric fronts, but not the rears? That seems strange.

But if that is so, I suggest buying a DC amp clamp and measuring the front window motors and seeing what they are drawing. That'll give you an idea. Or use the Blue Seas wire size app and size the wire based on the fuse and the distance to and from the location.

Re: 78 rear window motor amp draw ?

It does have a key switch on the back but I,m not going to use it. No it does not have electric side windows. is a electric tailgate from another blazer. Just can,t find ant info on what kinda amps these pull or use. Just thought someone might know what gauge to run from dash to tailgate

Ahh, I misunderstood. If you find a manual that states what the factory size fuse was for that tailgate window, then you can use the wire size app I suggested above based on the fuse size and the distance to/from the dash to the tailgate.
