Pioneer 8 Track Player & Speakers Installed... Finally

I finally got the Pioneer and Craig speakers installed. The speakers were a challenge as I wasn’t going drill screws for mounting the speakers. For now, I have them mounted to the CB Hump Mount. Doesn’t interfere, although they look like they do, but I might want to go with smaller speakers.

That being said... back in the day if the owner didn’t was to drill or cut metal, this might have been the option.

Oh yes ... the speakers sound pretty good for speakers made in the 70's.

Next is to install my Kris CB.

Re: Pioneer 8 Track Player & Speakers Installed... Finally

I remember I bought my Pioneer Super Tuner with 8 track back in 77 for my 63 Nova. I had 6x9 Jenson Tri Axel speakers. The only problem was that 8 tracks were going out and cassettes were on the way in. I had so many 8 tracks though I was thinking I made the right move ... Nope.

But I do love the nostalgic effect of one in a vehicle now.

Yea ... for me its more for looks and being time period correct. I am not sure if I like the size of the speakers but they are period correct.

Don't forget to have a spot for your matchbooks so you have the piece to fold up and wedge against the tape. Unit looks good. I don't think I have ever seen a speaker holder thing like that. Pretty neat looking.

I like it. Can you pull the mount all the way back against the seat or will that interfere with the CB mounting ?

I can move the mount both ways ... to close to the seat and it will interfere with the CB front...
