Which LS motor ??

I've got a lead on a 6.0 out of a 2006 Escalade and I was curious which motor it has in it? Is it a LS2, LS3, LS6 ?

What determines the number after the "LS"?

Re: Which LS motor ??

Thanks for the info.

What does the number actually represent?

Example :whats the difference between LS2, LS3,LS7,LS9?

Re: Which LS motor ??

the number in lsx motors denotes nothing, but there are large mechanical differences.

the truck motors for this example would be the lq4 and lq9, but there is no signifigance of the 4 or 9.

Re: Which LS motor ??

The engine RPO is just a designation....kind of like Z71, ZR1, LT1, etc. It is no different than any other RPO in the glove box of a new car.
