I also got a little done here. It will set the crossmember with 255 45 18 tires and wheels. The factory tire are 28.5 inches and the 18" will be 27" tall. This is a rough idea of what to expect. Measured a bit on the cab and will (should) set the rocker. maybe 1/2 inch tops!! YEAH BABY YEAH!!!!

The only thing i'm changing is wheels and the blue to copper or candy orange...still undecided for sure. But all trim and interior and the white (mabye shade) will remain as it did when new.

wdz28ss: Looking good! What are you going to do for hood hinges?

Phantom: Also looking good! How high (or low) is the bottom on the cross member compared to the bottom of the frame (at the straight part, like below the cab)?

This is a good question for now. I'm thinking of a way to fab something up. Also Turner is coming up with his own reverse flip kit. Now sure at this time but will be doing something with it soon. Anyone else have any ideas for hinges?

The crossmember seems to be about the same height as the frame. I think it may lay the frame?? I will see when I finish up the rear.

Phantom Dually- you might not lay frame. Not to put salt on your progress. Your frame looks good! When I assembled mine with my 2inch crossmember drop mine laid out. I set he rear frame at where my notch will be. the reason I dont think you will lay frame is because of your front bag mounts. I am cutting my crossmember up more so my bags won't rub. I'm using upper cups in the front and the out edge around the bag needs to be cut to get my frame down.
Look at my pics in the beggining of this post and look at where my lower control arms is in relation to yours.
You are moving along fast. My crossmember is sitting on my work bench waiting to get plasma more. Spending to much time on everyone else car.

Really if it dont lay frame Im not going to be upset. It will be really low and in reality I do not want to lay frame. I am building this truck for show and there is no reason to scrape the frame all up. Do you see a problem with the way the bag sits in?? Do you think I will possibly pop a bag from rubbing??

Also by cutting the bag mounts and moving the metal out of the way are you actually moving the upper mounting pad?? If I do this what would be the best way?? pics would be great!!

phantom, I used bag mounts like on an S-10, or a new fullsize. It puts the top of the bag into the crossmember about 3/4 of an inch.

I have 2 sets of upper bag mounts. One set is from turners and the others from a fab shop in cali that closed down?? I will check them to see which ones are smaller.

Hey quick question- what about sway bar mounts on Bill Turners arms. I was checking mine out last night and was wonder if I should use the sway bar off my 67 El Camino. What are you guys doing?

Phantom have you aired up your front suspension yet? You should and see if it rubs anywhere. If that is a firestone bag they balloon out then up. Make sure it does not rub. If it touches when air down all the way it should be fine as long as it does not sit on sharp edges.

I am going to smooth the inside of the crossmember around where the bag mounts. It is pretty clean now but could use a few minutes of work. I have not aired it up yet. I am trying to get the rack setup with the stock tie rod ends. You have to do a little cutting on them to get the adjuster sleeves to fit in. I thought about running my airline out through the inside of the crossmember and then out the side of the frame. Is this a good idea??

A few pics after tonight...Got together and sat on ground. Lays frame!!! actually lays on the rivets along bottom of frame. Looks like I need to do something in rear (about 3 more inches). Guess I'll be looking into "back halfing" it. The front crossmember is about 1/2" off ground laid out. probally be working on the rack tomorrow.
