Sorry for the late reply. I used Dupli-Color Vinyl Dye. I will say that it hasn't held up very well since I applied it. Some scuff marks on the drivers side that has shown through to the blue underneath. I followed the directions closely so can't say I can endorse the product.

Re: 1967 Stepside small window

Thanks for the reply. That's what I was wanting to know. Saw a thing on Trucks the other day where they used it and was curious. I've been doing a little reading and it seems most guys like the SEM vinyl product. Might try that.

Yeah, I read up on SEM too....kinda similar reviews. I've read up on this stuff again as of lately because I have a set of lowback buckets from a late 80's/early 90's chevy truck that I plan to transplant for the "tall guy" mod. Again, wanting to change the color and bring them back to life a bit. But again, getting mixed reviews. Some swear by it, some (like me) aren't overly impressed.

As said, I feel I followed the directions closely and took my time applying it...but maybe I screwed something up along the way.

All that said, even with the scuffs, it still looks 100% better than it did before.

Re: 1967 Stepside small window

Yeah this is a temporary solution for me but still want decent. Truck is red and the seat is real nice but maroon. Looks OK but also looks like I put a maroon seat in a red truck. Doesn't quite fit. I just took the original seat out and planning on recovering it in houndstooth. So I'm looking for something to last me for a little while.

I'd definitely give it a shot then if it's looked at as temporary. Take your time cleaning the vinyl and apply very thin coats. I just set mine up in the corner of the garage and gave it a spray every now and then over an entire weekend. Probably got 5-6 thin coats when all said and done.

Good luck and post up some pictures when done!

That is a beautiful truck. I have always loved that color of paint.
