paintbooth lights

I have a DeVilbiss semi downdraft booth and I'm changing lights [or adding some] for LED's. Has anyone changed the tubes in their booth for led? Big difference like I think? Happy new year. Jim

Re: paintbooth lights

Well, while I dont have a store bought paint booth, I use led tripod lights in my homemade booth,
they are wonderful..as i can move them where i need it at the moment
I also changed my shop over from flor to led.. that was a big change..
The flor lights seemed flood the area with light, the LEDs are more directional light, even though they are floods..I need to add 1 more run of them in the center of my shop.. its 35ft wide..i think that will fix my shadow problem

Re: paintbooth lights

I had two fixtures put up in my shop this morning and man they fixed a problem I have been putting up with for a while. I have a storm grey Avalanche in the shop doing some spot repairs on it two door dings on the left three on the right they bugged me till I could not stand them anymore. It was my sons Av he traded it in on a Hemi Grand Jeep I had rebuilt.
After seeing the new lights in the shop I think I def will be replacing my booth lights with leds sometime

Re: paintbooth lights

Jim, I think we have the same booth, and they have an odd ball size fixture that was made under license to Devilbiss, so the light company won't sell any of those fixtures without going through Devilbiss. (I was looking to add one in ceiling) I recently upgraded mine to some high output fluorescent fixtures, mainly because someone was giving them away, and these ones fit the hole without too much trouble. Light is so much better but the power meter spins a bit faster. So I am sure to leave them off unless absolutely needed. If I were paying for the fixtures it would have been LED, as I did upgrade the shop lighting to 4K LED, great improvement there as well.
