Re: Blazers and jimmy on bring your trailer auction

I like that 70. It’s not a CST per the SPID and therefore has utility buckets and no console. I’m wondering if the duplicate “fuel neck” cover on the RH side relates to the CA emissions RPO?

"Dollar Bill" built by rustyk5 out of Iowa sold today on bat for 185k. It looks as nice as they come based off the pictures.

Now I feel like my blazer is a retirement plan. Seems the prices are doing as good as my 401k. Not that I will sell anytime soon.

Clean 2wd CST now listed https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...olet-blazer-3/

Hope the new owner doesn't convert it to a 4wd

I can't believe it brought that much but good for them. It just makes getting one that much harder now. I've found one with no engine, top, seats, usable metal, and no title for $1500. They think it's a good price. Dang. I wish I would have kept the 2 I cut up 12 years back.

Re: Blazers and jimmy on bring your trailer auction

Theee are currently 3- 1972 Blazers and 1- 1972 Jimmy currently on auction on BaT. Never seen this many first generation at one time. It’ll be interesting to see what they sell for and if this many at one time has a chilling affect on prices. None has hit the stratosphere (so far) and are hanging in the $20k’s with a few days to go.

Re: Blazers and jimmy on bring your trailer auction

I have no issues with pulling a VIN plate to repaint a truck but use the proper rivets when you put it back. It is lazy and makes me question everything else on a truck/car.

I cant be the only one it bothers.

Re: Blazers and jimmy on bring your trailer auction

Here's a related article in Newsweek about non-OE VIN rivet vehicle sales: https://www.newsweek.com/car-restore...ackson-1689477

It seems to me that at least a third of 67-72s listed on BAT lack OE rivets. It's shockingly common and even the case on some detailed, six figure Blazers.

Re: Blazers and jimmy on bring your trailer auction

My Blazer lacks a VIN tag altogether. It wasn't there when I bought it. I had no problem with the Utah DMV and I don't plan to ever sell it, so it's not a big issue for me. The VIN on the SPID matches the partial VIN on the frame.

Was the Blazer already registered in Utah at time of purchase? An out-of-state title transfer from a previous owner to myself has always resulted in a VIN inspection (but not an in-state title transfer or transfer of existing titles in my name to a different state).

Nope you are not ! There's a 1970 on BAT now with bad
rivets. Not a bad price currently with 6 days to go ?
