Tubular A Arms

What brand of tubular A Arms do you recommend for a 69 C10? CPP, DJM, POL, or Porter's?

I'm pretty sure PB's are the only tubular CA's that will center your front wheel in the fender...

Assuming you purchase their 1" forward series control arms. I've got their 1" forward lowers on mine and it's not a full inch since I don't have the uppers, but the wheels are much closer to centered.

The website says they only work up to '72. That, and the same website says they are $1800. That's really the main reason.

Pre-73 arms will interchange if you really feel the need to drop the coin.... Just tryin to help.

DJM only sells "drop pocket" style a-arms.
This is old technology that can't be combined with drop spindles due to scrubline issues.

It's basically like drilling a hole in your lower a-arm and letting the spring hang out the bottom,... to lower your truck.
This "low hanging pocket" is very close to the ground on lowered trucks.
Have a flat with this combo (and 15" wheels, or short profile tires on bigger wheels),... and you will be riding on the a-arm pocket.
This takes braking away from your front tire.

That is interesting... especially considering that the crossmember they bolt to are identical and they accept 73-87 drop spindles... Maybe they move the wheel too far forward in the wheel well? And also... anyone interested in buying Hotchkis parts... check out Summit or Jegs or board vendors...(including Hotchkis) they all sell the parts way cheaper then what they are listed on hotchkis site....

The Hotchkis arms should work on later trucks if they bolt up to 67-72's; they just most likely haven't been 'validated' under the later trucks. I've swapped 67-72 arms to a post-73 & swapped post-73 arms to a 67-68 so they'll interchange. But even @ $1500 for 2 lower a-arms, that's still pricy unless there are additional benefits beyond what other mfr's a-arms offer that justify the increase.

Actually the Hotchkis arms will work up to '87 even though their website says '63-'72. They come pre-install with '73-'87 ball joints.
This is taken directly from the install sheet: Ball Joint Info: Before you install this product, please verify which front spindles you have. We have designed the upper A-arms to utilize the 73‐87 style spindles. This type of spindle was widely used in disc brake conversions due to its easy interchangeability and readily available replacement parts (e.g. ball joints, tie rods). If you have original 71‐72 style disc brake spindles, you can order ball joints from us to convert the Hotchkis upper a‐arms to work with that spindle.
I used them on my build and was extremely satisfied with the quality. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but I felt you also get more for it as well. The lowers come with HD adjuster sleeves and an updated center link that reduces bump steer. The spring cups have a deeper design to better locate the spring and also include a poly spring isolator and 1/4" shim to fine tune ride height. The uppers have offset cross shafts for a better camber curve and together they provide up to 9Ί of caster and center the wheels in the well. Just my 2cents...

That sucks that Hotchkis makes you buy 73-87 arms and then offers to sell you 4 new balljoints that are correct for your truck.
The 60-70 trucks can't just simply swap the outer tie rods like the 71-72 trucks can.
They should sell them bare and include the correct balljoint.

I understand they are trying to hit the "biggest market",... but that info should well known before purchase.
