What did you get done? 4/22/07

I mowed the yard.Spread some more gravel down the driveway.I cleaned up the yard a bit.Put the heads back on the motor for the '71.I took the bed off the 71 and started pulling the drivers side panel off it so it can go on the new bed I bought for it.

Re: What did you get done? 4/22/07

Finished installing electric fan setup earlier in the week. Spent Sunday reversing the wiring to get both fans pulling air in, instead of one pulling and one pushing. They work great now. Bought tach and circuit board from Byrd(board member). Just a little something to look forward to next weekend?

Re: What did you get done? 4/22/07

Was raining off and on all weekend, so not a dang thing done on the truck.

Did make a trip up to Sonora, CA over the weekend, spied a few trucks parked in fields, etc.. Decided to get a cheap digital to throw pic's and locations (rough locations) up on the board when I travel..

Hopefully will be able to start my bodywork this coming week/weekend, and am sure I will have TONS of questions..

Re: What did you get done? 4/22/07

Pulled the motor and tranny out of the GTX. The motor turned out to be a little more than I was wanting. TRW 12.5 to 1 pistons, 10 inch 4500 stall converter. Looks like I'll need more new parts than I thought.

Re: What did you get done? 4/22/07

Got the bed primed & block sanded. Now it should just be one more shot of primer & then a final blocking of the cab & bed & it will be ready for paint!
It's only been 10 months. Hard to be patient but when your getting a paint job for free ya learn

New intake and carb on Friday; Helped get buddy's new Silverado stuck in the snow on Saturday (and eventually out, thanks to an 8-ton winch and a 2-ton F#@d). Helped the oldest daughter build her own "hot rod" today. Yes, that's the ECE 4/6 drop kit ans 22's on that block of wood

Re: What did you get done? 4/22/07

Well after getting over a real bad hangover Friday morning toomanytoyz his brother and I commenced to stripping out a 78 1 ton 3+3 4x4 that I had been parting out. After loading it on his trailer later that evening I went to the hospital to receive 13 stitches in my hand due to getting it caught in the knuckle of the Dana 44 that went back under the truck. Saturday I went back to work at the rail yard.

Re: What did you get done? 4/22/07

well lets see. Friday i finished my led brake lights (version 2.0) Now have 120 led's instead of the old 85. They are more organized now that i used the perfboard. Changed the resistors too so they are a little brighter.

Saturday i painted one more wheel and had the tire switched out. Wire brushed and painted the rear bumper. Sanded and primered the tailgate. And i Cut off the old ratty exhaust. Dad mocked up the passenger side rocker panel too. Im afraid when people see the truck for sale, they are going to be like " well looks like someone gave this kid some white spray paint". The wheels and bumper kinda stick out

Today i helped dad get ready to take what's left of a 55 chevy 4 door sedan to the scrappers.

Re: What did you get done? 4/22/07

Friday I pulled the tranny out of the 87 S-10 I drug home last month. Looks like the PO's didn't have the t/c seated in the tranny and tightened the bellhousing to the engine. The bellhousing is now shattered, time to hit the U-Pull it for another tranny. Saturday pulled the engine out of the 70 GMC and put the aluminum intake and did some minor stuff to it. Pulled the booster off and fitted the booster and m/c of an 84 on it. Like the looks of the aluminum m/c way better and hopefully it will work much better. Gotta practice my flares to install the front brake lines from the 84 on.

Re: What did you get done? 4/22/07

Brought my frame and bed home from my dad's house on saturday. And from what it looks like so far (just guessing cause I don't have the rear suspension in at all) man it's gonna be lower than I thought! It won't be in the weeds but there's no doubt that it's low. I also remebered the previous owner had covered the bottom of the bed with road tar so that will have to be cleaned off. It kept it from rusting but ,,,,,,

Helped a buddy and his dad move a 59 willy's wagon they just finished painting and had a b-day party for my ten year old on sunday.
