I agree. Lots of work that needs to be done, but the options are plentiful on a K1500 Sierra Grande. You don't see that very often. If I was closer, I'd offer $3000 and see if we could make a deal.

I don't blame you. Rust is a big factor when it comes to time and money. This truck probably came from the midwest, as it was built in Wisconsin at the Janesville plant. I bet that is where much of the rust came from. This is a great pickup, but the bad (rust, PO paintjob, not running) may outweigh the good for many.

It’s funny that the SPID reads “Cheyenne Super” on the Sierra Grande

That is actually pretty common to see a Sierra Grande listed as a Cheyenne Super (YE9). It is interesting that the upper and lower moldings are listed. They were supposed to be part of the YE9 package as I understand it. Must be a (Janesville) plant thing?

California is pretty dry generally, but near the coast they get RUSTY. And that’s not just relative.

Same here in Florida. Vehicles from the east coast especially end up looking like they came Detroit.

Indeed. I bought a '72 Le Mans that lived its life in Malibu, and only after the fact did I realize what a rust bucket it was. Lost money on that POS, for sure. I got the engine, trans, AC, and front disc brake suspension out of it, at least.

Now he is taking the highest offer. I told him I would take it and pay for shipping. Apparently a bunch of people did the same lol.

un-scrupulous. If listed for $350, he should sell it to the first person willing to pay it. I hope everyone backs out on and he has to leave it on the curb in 10 years or so because of lack of buyers... What's that saying..?? "May the fleas of a thousand camels..."

Everyone who read this thread emailed him and said “mine, mine, mine!”

What did you think would happen?

All these type of finds should be put in a pool here for direct trades, no cash, since there always the wrong color your looking for. I could never repaint an early take off. Here is another thread on a tailgate find! http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...+tailgate+pool
