Not sure if I should buy this blazer...

I need a new hard top and a roll bar for my blazer, so i started looking around but this is all that i can find in my area. (Connecticut) but I'm not sure if i want to buy a whole blazer, they want 1200 for it but its pretty beat up. I was thinking about parting it out but not sure if its worth it. Its got a 350, and it ran but has some sort of 3 speed floor tranny. The seats aren't stock and I have no idea what they are from.... The top isn't even that nice its got some nicks and i'll need to replace the rear hatch with the one I have... What do you guys think?

not worth $1,200 in my opinion. I'd keep looking.

800 I'd say yes, not 1200. There is one down the street from me in the same shape for 500, just don't have the room or time or it would be mine right now.

That is one rough K5 and from the pics I'm sure it is rougher than it looks on the surface. IMO that thing isn't worth even $500.

There's one on the Lancaster,PA craigslist for less than $900 and it looks better than that... no title though Don't know if it's still available but I can check it out for you if interested...It's about 20 min from my house.

Def not $1,200. Show up w/$700.00 cash. If he goes for it, take what you need and part it out. I bet you could make money on the deal. Later, Mario

Hey thanks for the info, I just spoke with the guy on the phone and he's going to send me some more pictures. I might try to go take a look at it next week. I appreciate it.

Re: Not sure if I should buy this blazer...

No problem, let me know if you want to to peak at it before you drive down. When I asked him the price he said "make me an offer"... I said what's your ballpark and he stated around $900...

I bet with the title issues you could get it for $700 or less...

Re: Not sure if I should buy this blazer...

I wouldn't buy it for more than what the parts you want are worth to you. It looks pretty rough and I doubt there are enough salvageable parts to make it worth trying to part out.

I know I'm asking a bit late, but is that a set of soft top brackets in the back? First post, fourth pic.

You probably already have your mind made up on this blazer, but if the soft top is in good shape, you might get someone to trade you a good hard top for that alone. Do you know the soft top manufacturer? Might be worth asking the guy what he wants for it - if he would sell it seperate. It'd be a nice item to have....

Re: Not sure if I should buy this blazer...

Man, I don't want to sound snootty but that thing is rough, I know, I live in AZ and everyone hates me for that, but i wouldn't even look at that thing here, because the bolts, etc would be rusted. You'd kill yourself getting pieces off of it. My running driving and almost rust free Blazer has been for sale at $4k and no one even looks at it, I know it isn't $1200, but $2800 more and you'd have a nice driver or great sytart for a full resto and no real rust to deal with ??
