Will my 84 vette engine sit on I6 engine mounts

Hi guys. Newbie here.

I tried searching but all teh engine swaps seem buried deep in projects. I can;t find an answer to my simpleton question. Maybe someone can help me?

I have a 59 Apache.
It will be getting my 84 corvette engine & tranny.

I need paint by numbers help on the engine mounts. Is it a direct fit?

Thanks

No. Even the stock 283 v8 mounts were different. If the 84 block has the pad drilled at the front (used for accessories on later engines) then you can use those. The stock brackets are now being reproduced. If you have accessories using those holes you will need to figure out the conflict or change the accessorie mounting system. Most go to side mounts, do a search lots of threads on +- of front vs side and different side types (welded, bolted, under slung). Here is a couple of photos of mine and fam.

Re: Will my 84 vette engine sit on I6 engine mounts

You could go the way OrrieG showed but a much better way would be to use one of the aftermarket engine swap crossmembers to install the engine.

One similar to this one on the front using the side mounts on the engine
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/S-B-B-...ount,3273.html
and one similar to this one http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Tubula...Drop,4219.html to mount the transmission

These are only examples to show you what you might think about using and not a researched item (s) that will be an exact fit and work. You may want a different engine mount or you may need a different drop on the trans mount.

I also just found this picture on one of the project threads using Kimbridge mounts.
This task is becoming clearer to me.

I'm adding the picture and thread here so I don;t forget and in case anyone else go looking...

Mr48Chev, I looked at and like the tubular mounts.

I think once powder coated tubular mounts will compliment the vette suspension on the truck, and tie the frame rails together for more strength

I'll size them up and see.
Thanks

(attached is a pic of the truck. Wheels will change to something more classic when I go to the vette suspension...and everytime I drive by a vette now I think "nice donor...at least that's why I bought this vette).
