Ahh, six of one half a dozen the other. Everywhere has it's pluses and minuses. It's all about what you get tired of and what you want more of. If I think of any more cliches that apply I'll let you know. Oh Yeah, It's all what you make of it. Something about if the soup's too hot get out of the kitchen? Not too sure about that one

That would be "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen"

My mom moved me here to Tucson (I'm in Safford now) because of the humidity in Ohio. The doctor told her to get me to a drier climate, so she chose Tucson. Rented a apartment around Stone and FT. Lowell in 1969

Mapped Safford a few times now. Have to take a drive and check it out.

Just added a roof rack to my truck and need to test fit my roof top tent. Camping weather for a few more months!

Second generation Zonie here. I still hate the summer heat, and I live at 5300 ft. Everyone stay away, you will melt.

Re: Arizona is awesome

A bit higher up, but I loved the summer weather in the Flagstaff area, coming from the humid east. Locals complained about the heat when it hit 80. I recall maybe a month when I could ride with the window down at night. It was hang around the campfire weather at night and all day it was wear shorts or jeans, t-shirt, button-up, no shirt. Cool mornings and evenings. But I agree, don't go there. I'm weird and everyone else will hate it, ok? Besides, you probably wouldn't like monsoon season.

I knew nothing about what to expect when I went. what I knew of AZ was what you heard and saw from back east. And that was mostly southern AZ. Grand Canyon pictures look like desert so you'd think hot. Depends on when you go.

I lived south of Flag a bit, in Mountainaire. Live oak and ponderosa pine forest with a meadow here and there. A short drive down along Oak Creek and you were in Sedona, a few thousand feet down in altitude. You could find hot there if you wanted it.

Re: Arizona is awesome

I was stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB back in '70s. Plus, spent a couple civilian years as well. Enjoyed it all 'cept those 115 degree days humping a C5A Galaxy on the tarmac. I was in missile security but, they put us on security for those behemoths due to this high value....and it was easier to temporally upgrade (add them) to our existing Top Security clearance. The ''rough" on the base golf course was Chaliche rock. :0

During civilian time I still lived in Tucson but, spent every other week in Phoenix. Loved both cities, even though they were very different at the time. Still have a nephew in Chandler.

Re: Arizona is awesome

Arizona is on maybe retire to list. I think the dry climate would be good for my joints. We have a few friends and family spread out down that way.

One of my coworkers was showing me pics today of a house they will probably buy in Mariposa (sp). It’s a really nice gated community. Prices are in an easily doable range.
