Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

I will have to get some I did talk to my drive-line guy he told me to NOT put a Double Carden on the rearend because the center ball socket is not made for it. will it work? yes, but he said I will have to rebuild it often. so I am going to wait till the weight is on the truck and fine tune then. so tonight I am going to work on the fuel line.

These guys have everything you could ever need electrical. I found them to be a very good vendor. I ordered supplies in large quantity to reduce shipping costs.
http://www.delcity.net/store/Wire-Co...Quick-Splices/

I have also used connector supply, but their website doesn't disclose shipping until you have already ordered. Then it pops up on your receipt. Not cool.

Good luck and thanks for the pm. I may have to hold off a bit on the diff cover until she's on the road.

Ok great thank you for the link. I will check it out. I would like to use the factory style plug instead of cutting it off.

I understand on the diff cover. No worries

It's a Dodge pull truck, all custom suspension. It's a short bed with a 440 BB.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

Looked what I picked up today. It's a epoxy primed cab with all the rust repair done. It does have a dent in the driver rocker that may need to be replaced. But it is way better then the one I had. Going to get it off the trailer and set on the frame sometime this week and see how it looks
Happy Memorial Day everyone.

No this is a different one... The first cab I bought had a few bad spots in the roof. A paint and body friend said if you could find another cab that would be best as the first cab would take some work. The guy I picked this up from had all the rust repair performed over a year ago, but it has sat outside so the epoxy primer is like chalk. The best part is that I will have to repair the dent in the rocker and the rest should be good to go.
I am not a paint and body guy so this is not my strong suit.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

I have a question regarding exhaust after looking at DWilber's project.
Has anyone ran the header exits into a 3" exhaust pipe and run out the back on our model trucks?
I was thinking it would be different and should scavenge well but I am not an exhaust expert. The motor in the truck is a 4.8L LY2 with a XR259HR COMP cam.
Any comments?

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

I never ran 3" pipe but i had 2 1/2 duals and my truck is estimated at 325hp, i went to get it re-dueled and both the performance places i went to said that with duals 2 1/4" pipe will flow fine up to 400HP any larger and your taking away bottom end, which tells me that 2 1/2" duals will probably accommodate about 5-550 HP.

Google this and you will find calculators for pipe size, maybe a page or tow that talks about the subject.

"exhaust pipe diameter and flow rate"

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

Swamp thanks for the comments.
My sons 5.3 is 2-1/3" duels it's sounds and runs good. I was wondering if anyone had ran the headers into one 3" pipe? I haven't seen it. The never vehicles yes but not the older ones. I will check out the calculators. Other than deisel trucks dual exhaust are what most run on gas trucks

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

If you find a flow chart and figure out what your engine flows via HP then you can come up with a single pipe size, dosn't really matter if its new or old, its all a matter of the flow rate ect., performance shops will probably know the answer off the top of their heads.
