The cluster looks great Mark, as does the rest of the truck. I know how time consuming the interior wiring can be. You are so close now.....

Thanks Mike! Yes, the wiring took way longer than I anticipated, but I'm really happy with the quality off the AAW harness. I also took the time with my label maker and labled each harness and made myself a legend.

Today I cut and welded in the notch into the seat so my shifter will clear. I' like the feel of it. It's really comfortable to sit and shift. Luckily I have two seats for the mock up.

Thanks Duane!

After doing the setup and calibration on the gauges today, I can really give them 5 STARS. I am just amazed at how advanced they are, & all the options that came with them! They literally give as much information as a new vehicle would.

Hi;
This is a great build. I'm doing the exact same build.
What did you use for the transmission crossmember?
Could you please provide the source?
Thanks,
Joe

Thanks for the compliment. Sounds like your doing a great build. The cross member is from CPP and it fits like a glove. I Was surprised how well it fit with my 6-Speed transmission. I should have my drive line installed in the next couple of weeks.

I'm not able to find my receipt with the part number. The crossmember is strait. I believe the it was made for an automatic trans but fits perfect with no modifications.

Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual

I finally got my bed on the truck One of my good friends, which happens to be a carpenter, helped me pick out Cherry wood for my bed. Hopefully in the next week or two we will get the wood cut and finished.

Cherry wood. I really liked the natural red in the wood.

Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual

Now that the bed is on it looks like I need to lower the rear of the truck 1"-2" to level it out. I still need to install 1/2"-1" spacers to get my rear wheels towards the edge of the bed. Let me no what you guys think.

Thanks,

... get the bed wood and fuel tank in, also let the springs settle... then see if you still need to adjust the height...

Thanks Rich.. Yes, almost 5 years now since the bed has sat on the frame. Your probably right, I'm going to wait until I install the tank and wood.

Rich,

I know your probably right, but I am to inpatient to wait. I went ahead and fabricated up some 1/4" spacers For right now. I lowered it one more inch to total 7"s in the rear. It leveled out the truck. After the wood and fuel tank are back in I will adjust it if needed. let me know what you think.

Everything is done under the hood for now minus the throttle cable, heater and A/C hoses.
