Looks like an AC relay. but it's in the wrong spot. find out where the red wires go. Obviously one will go to battery the other???

Yeah- looks identical to my AC relay. Here is what it connects to. Thank you fellas. Old boy had a CB hooked up, maybe that’s what it was for

Re: What is this? ‘80 C20

Yeah Mongo- same part. However, my AC and blower relay on pass side are all squared away and working.I think it may have something to do with emissions canisters I removed as they were in the same area

Re: What is this? ‘80 C20

Possible a PO salvaged that relay from a different vehicle and used it for some gizmo in the truck.

Pull the connector loose and see what, if anything, quits working.

Possible the gizmo was pulled from the truck before it was sold.

Re: What is this? ‘80 C20

I saw this on a C20 Camper Special we once had. I think it was for the dual battery set up for the camper. I think the relay isolated the battery when the truck was off and charged it when the truck was running. Ours was pretty FUBARed when we got so not 100% sure on its true functionality from the factory. Just my guess.

That’s also the same relay GM used for the glow plugs on the early diesels. 78-80 they mounted two of them on the driver side fender. One relay for each bank of glow plugs.
