Unhappy carburetor "Pay it forward"

Hello all, in the interests of doing things appropriately on the board, I wanted to make it known that I helped a fellow board member out, but "Paying it forward" by sending this person a quadrajet carburetor I was not going to use, and I told this person it was his for the cost of shipping. having said that, I mailed said Carburetor to the individual and he said he was sending me the shipping fees. December 11th, I started this process, and to date, I still have not recieved the shipping fees. here is the original post:

I'm not trying to be a jerk, if the rest of us must adhere to the rules, it's only fair this be rectified. I didn't have to go out of my way, but I did.
I'll get off my soapbox now....
Thank You!

Angry Re: carburetor "Pay it forward"

this guy is really starting to tick me off, he won't answer any of my messages, he needs to step up and do the right thing here. if anyone see's a post by "Wallee" looking for parts, better look the other way, if he can't honor $12.00, imagine how much more someone else could potentially get screwed........

Re: carburetor "Pay it forward"

Sad to say, but in todays world send me the money first then I will send the part. Used to be you could take a man at his word and a handshake was better then any written contract. Not so much anymore.

Re: carburetor "Pay it forward"

Sorry this has happened to you Ben, your a good guy it shouldn't work this way. I've been lucky I've gave guys parts on this board before and everyone so far has sent me the shipping price back. Hope you get your money back.

Re: carburetor "Pay it forward"

Ben,
That stinks... I do it a lot and hope it doesn't become the norm. I've noticed a lot of this type thing on Facebook. I've sold some stuff on there but always come back to the board. I don't sell on Craigslist anymore due to people flaking and wanting it for scrap prices.
Keep your head up and know you've done the right thing helping someone else out, (Even if they don't deserve it sometimes)
Don't let the actions of others change your outlook.
Blessings from Wichita!

Re: carburetor "Pay it forward"

I've sent stuff, and had others do the same. I find that PayPal makes it a little less stressful. If you print a shipping label thru them, you can get a tracking # to send the person, and have some leeway in time to confirm the email that they've sent you payment. Its like ghetto-escrow service.
