Sony MEX-BT3700U in BMW

Hi guys:
I have a problem with this unit which I installed in my wife's car: a 2000 BMW 540. I used couple of of different wiring harness adaptors. Everything in the unit including bluetooth, CD player and etc works great except the main nob!!. It suppose to work as select botton which it does but when you turn it, which suppose to control the volume or adjust the clock while in setting mode, it doesn't do any thing. Basically, when I rotated the nob, nothing happens. I called sony tech support and they said to reset the system which I did with no differrence, then they said return it and I did and I got a new one. I have the same problem!!!. When I got the new unit, I did not changed the wiring which I soldered to wiring harness adaptor but I don't see how wiring can be the problem since everything else is working. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Sony MEX-BT3700U in BMW

in no way would this be the wiring if the other functions on the deck worked and only one function does not
how exactly are you going about "reseting" the unit? and does the knob work when using it for the volume and just not when setting the clock if this is so have your tryed any other buttons to try and set the clock
after holding down the center button and getting to the clock are you pressing the SEEK+ button to get the hour to flash then trying to use the volume knob to set the hour?
