47-55.1 Hood question

8man Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2017 Location: Bryan, Texas Posts: 2,286	Hood question I was looking at the hood for the 48. IMG_0405 by Robert Moorman, on Flickr The wife says she wants a slick hood. So I looked at this one and I'm guessing weld the slots and any holes through the hood. Then do as others have done on spot welding the two halves together, slowly trying to control the heat. My question is that "groove" down the middle. It's about .1" deep. Are all the hoods like that? If they are, I guess that is filled with filler?
