It's Saturday and on Saturday you need to pick your priorities, and you chose well!

Re: A '54 named Busty

I found some threaded holes underneath the frame horns so I chased them in hopes of using them at least to hold the mock up bracketry on for me

these may have been for the Camaro sway bar I'm not sure

Re: A '54 named Busty

since one side of the stock front fender mounting brackets was already separated I decided to divorce the other side as well for easier installability and tinkerability

here I am grounding down the head of that rivet before pounding it out

Re: A '54 named Busty

decided to give her a little colonoscopy today, just had to know the 8.5" 10 bolt rear end digits so that I could set my speedo proper in HP Tuners

we can make out 16 41 followed by 1 77

so looks like it was assembled on 1=January in 77=1977

then we take the bigger number 41 and divide it by the smaller number 16 carry the one, times the circumference of the earth and we go ourselves a 2.56 tall gear rear end, good highway gears but this don't explain why she is so burly with that little 5.3L in her

http://www.teufert.net/camaro/1977.htm

apologies the pics are blurry

Re: A '54 named Busty

started wiring up the Auto Meter Z-Series gauges last night, the wires will get cleaned up, zipped tied and loomed, this is just a moch up to make sure everything reaches and works first

even found a place for the Obi-Wan Kenobi glad that I didn't have to drill new holes, same for the MIL aka check engine light, I may just put the high beam light in the other hole, might not even wire it up just use it as a conversation piece

Don't forget to label that check engine light, lest you forget what it is. I'm not speaking from experience here, as far as you know....

Re: A '54 named Busty

so it appears the previous owner did a Craigslist rebuild on the rear end, aka rattle canned it black right over the grease and rust, that's not right so I took her down to bare metal
