Re: 5 lug hubs
Usually off a 49/54 Chevy car. You also need the backing plates as the 48 truck backing plates won't work with the car drums.
I'd have to raise my truck up and look as you need to drill two new holes in the backing plate and make two spacers to match the backing plate to the truck spindle. It's an easy self explanatory process and only takes a few minutes to accomplish. What I and most others have done is bolt the car backing plate to the truck spindle with the two bolts where the backing plate matches up to the spindle and then use the spindle as a drill guide to drill the two new holes. I need to jack the truck up to measure something anyhow so I'll see if I can get a photo from the back side of the backing plate when I go outside. |

Re: 5 lug hubs
Sorry about the rust and mud, It was my daily for several years before I started the redo. You can see that I had to make the spacers for the lower bolts. You will need to change the bolts and you want grade 8 bolts when you do this. Unless you can find Lawson true torque bolts as they exceed grade 8 but are hard to find. |
