We started polishing the wheels today
We also got the Front clip in color, but haven’t had a chance in wet sand yet

Looks good. Did you polish by hand on the wheels? Steve

Re: Orson the 49 GMC ~ Chris C.

polishing wheels sucks, but at least the end result is satisfying!

maybe it's cuz there are still some wet spots in the paint, but something is messing with my eye. is the top of the hood painted? i'm a teal fan though, don't see to many out there.

Here’s the front end now that it’s dry (still before wet sanding) we had a few areas to fix today.

Even though Saturday is supposed to be my day to work on my projects, I had Wyatt make patches for the areas we relived in the firewall.

Re: Orson the 49 GMC ~ Chris C.

we got a lot done today. But I think I got ripped off on the Wiring harness. There is a bundle of 8 wires that go to an external connection. I’ve identified 4 of them. The TCC, speedo, tach, and fan. Those are the only 4 that the pinout says there should be! There’s no instructions and the wires aren’t labeled. I bought it through messenger and since my account was hacked, I had to start a new one. So now I can’t contact the seller! If we don’t figure it out soon I’m going to have to buy another harness! We took the front clip apart. Body worked the roof. Welded in the hacked up radio hole

Re: Orson the 49 GMC ~ Chris C.

We finished wet sanding the drivers side. Cowl is ready for paint, roof still needs one more fill. Engine turns, but for some reason the fuel pump isn’t getting power. We are diagnosing now. I’ll stick Wyatt on it tomorrow.

Re: Orson the 49 GMC ~ Chris C.

looking great!

did you have the pcm software modified? you probably did, but in case you didnt gotta take out the passlock at the very least, it will keep the fuel pump from running.

We started painting the bed, but ran out of color. Will pick some up tonight.
Pulled the column for paint and to paint the interior.

Re: Orson the 49 GMC ~ Chris C.

We spent pretty much all day getting the door rubber off, it was like it was petrified! Then we stripped the remaining items out of the cab, in preparation for paint.

Re: Orson the 49 GMC ~ Chris C.

Today we created templates for full door panels, tomorrow I’ll run them to my plas cutter and have them cut from 22ga. To include with the Truck
Chloe wet Sanded and painted the inside of the right door
And masked the rockers and jambs
