'70 C10 Longbed Pro-Touring Build

Hey Guys,

New to the forum! My name is Dave and have been a long time lover of '67-72 C10s and just so happen to come upon one this weekend that I got for free...that's right FREE...from a coworker of mine. (In reality I will probably give him $1K for his trouble and sign the title over) Long story short, he just didn't have time anymore for his C10 which sat for many years (he's actively involved in Comp Eliminator NHRA drag racing which takes up insane amounts of money and time so he just wanted his truck to go to a good home.

Well , I volunteered to take the bullet for the old gal. Big "O" as they have lovingly called it (name will be obvious when you see the pics) is a 1970 C10 long bed pickup that is actually in pretty good shape. Has a thrown together 350 with a TH350 and is a leaf sprung truck. He lowered it when he was younger and dropped the front a bit.

Having taken acquisition of it this past Saturday I plan to clean it up as it is for now, sure up the suspension a bit and get a set of 20s for it appropriate to the dimensions of the truck and enjoy the show season of once.

The ultimate goal is a 454 LSX with an 80e, lowered with updated suspension and fat meat in the back riding on Rushforth Rated X's. For now the 350 should be good to go and will eventually get place by a 6.0L LS of similar.
