Look Out Raptor - There's A New Predator In Town!

2021 Ram 1500 TRX Pros and Cons Review: More than a Supertruck?

With a 4.1 second 0-to-60-mph run and a blistering 12.7-second quarter-mile at 106.3 mph, the TRX is the fastest pickup truck we've tested since our founding in September 1949. More than just a speed machine, the Ram TRX handles "truck stuff" quite well, too. ... Make it look like a trophy truck!Nov 30, 2020

2021 Ram 1500 TRX

VERDICT
The 702-hp, Hellcat-powered Ram 1500 TRX goes big and never makes you want to go home.

one of my coworkers picked this one up yesterday

Seeing as Ford is bringing back the V8 Raptor I don't think anyone is worried about the TRX.

Shelby is my least favorite aftermarket company out there, so I'm 100% ok with that outcome lol.

Just to put those numbers into perspective, that’s pretty similar numbers of what a stock 5th Gen SS Camaro will run. Pretty damn impressive for a full size 4x4 truck. I wish I could afford one.

.

That thing needs a manual tranny. I'd drive it either way.

Re: Look Out Raptor - There's A New Predator In Town!

That there is a muscle truck alright.

[It's also eye-wateringly expensive, with prices starting at $71,690, well north of a Raptor or Tundra in the mid-$50K range. Lastly, there's its fuel economy: At an EPA-rated 10/14/12 mpg, the Ram TRX is horrendously inefficient. And while, yeah, supercars and pickups are inefficient to begin with, we're disappointed to see that there's no hybridization going on in the TRX—especially considering the Ram 1500 comes standard with a mild hybrid V-6 and is available with a mild hybrid V-8.]

Everybody in design is "Japanese" now (not actually by nationality, but by design aesthetic).

This generation of designers were raised with Hot Wheels cars.

Re: Look Out Raptor - There's A New Predator In Town!

hey Boog, I laughed at that too..

eye-wateringly expensive while the msrp on a raptor is $65k but the few friends of mine with them paid around $75k

and the trx has a 700hp hellcat engine for pete's sake!

trx mpg 10 / 14 /12 is terrific for a 4x4 truck compared to a 750hp lambo - 8 / 14 / 10

hybridization? wth does that mean?
