Dirts 72

A lot of people here around Boise Idaho get the gee willikers when they meet some one that moved here from California .. I am not one of them because in 2019 I looked it up and found that the ratio was 4-red to 1-blue of all the folks who moved here from old Cali and registered blue and red ,,meaning Idaho will stay red

Re: Moving Recommendations "Red State"

Don't move to Tn .

It's mostly rural so we don't have a lot of dog parks
Calling an uber could cost you $100's to go to taco bell
There are armed terrorists in the woods chasing bambi every year
On any given Sat there are 1000's of 2 stroke gas powered weed eaters and lawn mowers buzzing and spewing blue smoke ,
It's common to see feral children OUTSIDE riding BICYCLES ! Making noise !
Having a few old trucks in your driveway is a status symbol not a reason to call code enforcement .
Having an AMERICAN flag flying in your yard on holidays is strictly enforced !
It's legal to open carry a personal protection firearm . Those people aren't terrorist they are anti crime deterrents
it's not catch and release here it's catch and keep , unless your in a fishing tournament .
We are all Vegans here , As a side dish to steaks/ chicken and pork
Smelling smoke in your neighborhood is not a reason to pack and leave it's just your neighbors heating their home with a fireplace
When your wife tells you she felt the earth shake last night It's a compliment not an earthquake .
we have no state income tax
gas was $3.09 a gallon not a litre
when you go to a classic car show your honda' toyota/tesla/nissan/ kia gets directed to the parking lot
our cows fart.. A lot !

The schools teach reedin righntin and arithi.. aritma... math !

My youngest son and his wife are in Tennessee as I type, they are seriously looking to relocate as soon as both of their kids are out of high school which is not that far off.

No worries Grumpy they are right, as right gets, cause we raised him right.

Re: Moving Recommendations "Red State"

How about Nevada? Kidding, we were red before the California exodus and influences and became eastern California, all my neighbors are Ca. transplants. Small towns are an option? I have my eye on an area south of me, but suspect they've taken the area over too.

Did you know Ca. was red before the internet & gadgets...........hmm!

On a side, State employment here has sure taken a twist. You have to be tested regularly if unvaccinated. Meanwhile most often they work from home now, and it's gotten so dumb and wasteful, some places have a requirement you must work at the office one day a month to "justify" keeping the building......................Yikes.

Same reason as everyone who has already fled the state, high taxes and absolutely wasteful spending for starters....but I'll stop there before it gets too political and gets the thread shut down.

Where does this level of paranoia come from? All the states I have visited are fine. I have neighbors on both sides of the political fence. We all watch out for each other.
I'm not saying its going to happen but we are headed that way. Don't be asleep at the wheel.

Groupthink and reliance on government are not what makes red states appealing.
I made your point very clear in a previous post in this here thread no doubt.

Honestly I cannot believe I've made it this far without the testing thing. Most of our office does work from home I do not have that option.

Does anyone have any recommendations?
Feel free to move to ND! We have great duck and goose hunting, along with deer and moose. Move to bismark and you get big town feel with small town values, And the badlands are right west of you with great views. More jobs than you could ask for and houses are affordable. For the most part western ND trucks are above average for not having rust. Ill leave you with a Picture I took in the Eastern part of the state.

The population of Russia is 44% of the US. Which may be good news to some, considering its land mass. This might be even better....86.8 men per 100 women. I'm not sayin'....Just sayin'

I thought it was because I'm so good looking.

That's what they told me... Right before they asked me to send money.
