New to the board, ignition switch question...

Hey everyone. I figured it was time for me to quit "lurking" and introduce myself and my truck. My name is Justin, from Utah, and I've got a '67 C20 Custom Camper that I've owned twice. Love this site, absolutely awesome wealth of knowledge, and very cool trucks.

On to my question- I am replacing the ignition lock and key with an original style from Brothers. I figured the ring or nut holding the ignition assembly in the dash would un-screw, but so far it loosened it, and hasn't come out. I am afraid it may be stripped because the nut just spins, gets hard to turn, then gets loose again. Have I missed something, or does anyone have any ideas on how to get this out without destroying it? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You do not need to remove the ring to change the key & tumbler. Turn the key to the acces. position. Stick the end of a paper clip in the hole & turn the key a little further. The cyl. should come out now.
