shorty tilt

For those of you looking for a little more room while driving! This column has been shortened 2'' which will put the steering wheel closer to the dash. Everything else will hook up exactly as the stock truck column. It has been bead blaster and finished in semi gloss black and has all new levers, turn signal harness, upper and lower boots, new pointer, new hazard knob. This beautiful column will run $650 plus shipping.

Re: shorty tilt

Hi Les

Does this use the stock length intermediate shaft?

Was the main steering shaft was cut down by 2" or does this come with a shortened intermediate shaft?

Thanks!

Yes, it uses the stock length intermediate shaft and the main shaft was shortened at the bottom and a new spline was added

Re: shorty tilt

I just placed an order with 70shortfleet for a shorty tilt steering column. I plan to post pictures once I have the steering column in my hands. I currently have a sloppy CPP steering column; I can't wait to upgrade!

Here's a photo of a "shorty" built by 70shortfleet. Also has the 15" steering wheel.

Sorry, I can't get photos to rotate, maybe someone can rotate photos.
Thanks, Tim

This style is used for tilt columns and the red hazard is for non tilt colunms

Re: shorty tilt

So GMCPaul's is incorrect?

67-72 Turn Signal Switch With Tilt Column (132884-2 or 19717013)
1967-72 Turn signal switch for TILT steering columns. 100% correct just like original, with red hazard knob and correct curved steering column to wire harness connector.
I went out of my way to get this one, instead of another black one that was causing a short (and correct connector too).

BTW: this is for my own edification and not to say you are incorrect (I am not meaning to offend you)

I have seen a couple of venders s selling the red hazard for tilt columns but I have about 100 of these original tilt columns and about 95 out of a 100 had the black hazard knob
