QA1 control arms vs modified stick parts

QA1 offers more caster, and sounds like a great upgrade. Pricey. Well yes.

Rebuild the stock stuff about $600 with labor to press the bushing in, and installing myself. To which I could pancake the crossmember, and move the lower A arms forward. To gain caster.

Has anyone used QA1 arms after having a nicely set up stock suspension.

We're you impressed or just $1500 lighter?

I have the qa1 setup w/ coilovers. Night and day. Would buy them again.
Not cheap, but the ride quality is worth it.

I used the same setup on my 77. Like pcmcobra said money well spent.

Are they better than the stock units?

Tubular arms are generally structurally more sound/rigid vs. stamped OE arms so that's better.

If they come loaded w/the bushings & BJ's already installed & you were already needing to spend $$ for rebuilding the OE arms, that negates some of the 'new purchase' investment expense. They're coated? That adds to the investment amount as well.

But are they worth the price of admission?

Even generic arms are stronger then stamped. Except the ball joints, and don't move items around for more camber. So I can play with them.

QA1 is a great name, and have used many of there other items with great happiness. Just I have always been told, and have read. A arms alone don't make a big difference unless pick up points are moved.

Yes & no. Yes for some that those features are important & have value. No for others that don't stretch the limits of factory arms & can rebuild them @ a fraction of the cost.

I've yet to 'feel' my stock style a-arms flex or ever cause an issue in normal, legal driving scenarios. How will tubular arms improve an issue I don't experience?
I don't need Powder Coated parts. Nice rattle can satin black works fine & is easy to touch up. If I do get PC'd parts, they're always 'gloss' black which is NOT what I would want anyway so there's no value there for me.

Exactly what change was made to the arms for more Camber? A-arms themselves don't impact camber other than alignment. Spindle height & pivot points of the arms/BJ's impact the Camber-curve. They can alter Caster by tweaking the arms but Caster can be tweaked w/the stock arms as well. Again.... Value is subjective here.
