Can we use anything from a 1993

I'm noticing a lot of 1993 trucks coming in to my local pick-a-part (LKQ) Is there anything off of this year than can be used in our generation of trucks?

Look in the bed for any 67-72 parts??? Couldn't help it, it struck me funny.

Some of the trucks of 1993 production have some really nice paint colors.. Get a jug of paint remover and pay that place a visit.. Pick a color, remove it, take it home and put it on your truck.

You could pull the whole tbi system and use it on your ride. Not a popular opinion nowadays, but better than the original.

That's where I got everything for my serpentine set up. But make sure to take all the bolts. Because there is a mixture of standard and metric. Can't remember, but you may need a putter to remove pulley from power steering pump.

I have a bench seat and seat belts out of a '92 Silverado in my '68. Obviously not a direct bolt in, but easily adapted.
I really like the 3 point belts.

Re: Can we use anything from a 1993

I keep telling myself to hit the local yards for the windshield washer reservoir and pump from an early 90’s truck. My pump is bad and reservoir missing so it would be a small upgrade.

The steering wheel from those era work really well and look good too. The Silverado trim level or GMC SLT had leather wrapped wheels.

Engine. Seat belts can work. I've seen the seats used lots of times. I think 92 is the last year for a 4L60(700R4) trans and they are electronic 4L60E after that. As mentioned the steering wheels are often used.

Serious??? Have you ever heard of Cuba? They piece anything together from anything. Here's what comes to mind....motor, trans, rear, and seat. Where there's a will.....there's a way!

Ha ha! How could I forget the seat? That’s what was in my truck when I got it - and still is.

Definitely grab that underhood trouble light with the 15 foot retractable cord. Those were made by Hobbs and are no longer available.
