Re: What are you using to heat your garage?

My two Kerosene heaters. Had them on today. They kept it about 55 degrees. I think thats pretty respectable considering it's been in the 20's just on the other side of them garage doors.

Some people are like Slinkies... not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Re: What are you using to heat your garage?

I have a 24X24 two stall garage & have two 220v electric heaters AND a 60,000 BTU propane heater keeping me pretty warm. The propane heater is set at 65 degrees & runs about half the time now that we are having north pole temps. I think you might need a little bit more...

The propane heater you have, do you have to open the doors when you are in the middle of using it so you dont die from the fumes???

Corn : if thats a propane in side your shop i would STRONGLY recommend for your safety (fire protection insurance ) that the propane be removed to the outside of the shop. thanks for your time

Re: What are you using to heat your garage?

for the shop two 220vac 4800 kw construction heaters will do the trick. 4800kw = apx 16000 btu each. in my 26'x26' 10'wall (walls r20 attic r 40 ) shop i have 3 of these. 2 work and the third is a extra for the faster warm ups at -30 and colder. with the electric heat the chance of a explosion (gas fumes) is all but eliminated. i am getting to old for close calls.

I think that any fuel type heater should be used with some caution. Maybe crack a window to draw in some fresh air. Carbon monoxide poisoning is hardly detectable w/o a monitor.

Re: What are you using to heat your garage?

If I had a small area and nat or LP Id use an Infrared, they are ventless and put out around 30,000 btu depending on the number of grates.

I use this 165 btu because its cheaper to run and have 2160 sqft to heat.
