Re: Another Blue Chevy

Took my Wife to breakfast at The St. Cloud Hotel on Saturday in the old truck. They are remodeling this Hotel that has sat vacant for a few years. They will have 36 rooms available when finished. It has quite an interesting history. https://unbridledholdings.com/hotel-st-cloud/

This is the cardboard I saved the spark plugs in while I ran the tests. I just wrote the results on it to coincide with the cylinders.

I was Trained to do this test the same way.

The Cardboard and the Math.

Your about 18% difference.

Put some Marvel Mystery oil in #2 or maybe all of them.

Let it sit.
Maybe a day or two.

Crank it over (Without the plugs in.

Then crank it up out in the wide open Spaces.

Let it burn off the oil.

Then do another Check.

A leak down check will tell the real deal.

I think the Mystery oil will be the (Sandpaper ) cure to keep you Putting down the road.

I did a leak down test while I was testing compression and I had no noticeable drop. I'm ok with what I found and have driven it four or five times to town with no issues.

Re: Another Blue Chevy

I had a friend get ahold of me Friday night and ask if I was still looking for a rear bumper. We went to look at what he had gotten with an old International pickup . These are the pictures he sent me.

Re: Another Blue Chevy

I didn't need the front one but I bought both of them anyway. After getting them home I set the rear up on some jack stands just to see what I needed to mount it. I will mount it a couple inches lower to clear the license plate.

Re: Another Blue Chevy

After taking off the brackets and overrider, I used a flap wheel to clean of the surface rust and found this on the back , So they are GM bumpers.

I'm not sure if IHC used GM bumpers or it was just a coincidence that he ended up with them.

Re: Another Blue Chevy

Kind of ironic because the '67 Stepside I used to have I installed a IHC Scout front bumper on the rear.
