In other news, S is back home, after a trailer load that seemed super-sketchy, but went as smooth as can be.

Congrats Chip and nice job on the S-Box! What are you rolling in there after you get the floor swept up?

I was wondering that too. What's the latest on Yeller's epic engine saga? Does LBT have a chance of a facelift? Will the GMC newcomer get slammed? C'mon give us a hint!

Well, I had a Chevelle coming for quarters, but the guy is having a surprise baby. I can answer the rest of the questions in the LBT thread.

Here's some done pics-

Tractor Supply. You can buy a lot of Van Sickle implement paint and hardener for $100. It might be a little butchy, but it won't hold water like primer might.

Do you remember when we would do a color change for $500 using it, and stay up for a couple days and think we scored? Oh wait, that was just me. I used to shoot the heck out of that stuff.

It is, as they say in the body biz (as you well know) the customer's problem. It's being stored inside, and will probably get Maaco'd in the end. You could DA the whole thing with 320 and scuff the edges and shoot it, and it'd look great for what it is. This deal bumped right up against hurt feelings for all parties, so it's better this way. I did what I said I was going to , when I said I was going to, and my end is as right as I can make it. My conscience is clear. You're right, though, I'd love to see it BC/CC in the factory color. It'd be cool lookin'.

That sucks to hear it went that way. It looked to me you were doing a solid to tackle it in the first place. Maaco is what you make of it, I guess. With enough of the prep work done, he could still end up with a decent paintjob.

You wanna come down here and work on my truck for a long time for cheap? (it was worth askin'....)

You sure do nice work. Very strange car to want to restore, even if it was an Uncles. I was looking forward to seeing it in paint ... Oh well.

I've said it before, it's not the rate, but the bar bill that shocks most people.

(Actually, I'd be honored. Yours is gonna be super killer when complete. I really wish I had some thing similar. It'd be cool to find some kinda paint to make the new bed look like the old cab, and run it patina for a while.)

Thanks for the compliment. I was really viewing it as a test of skills. I learned a lot!

I had that thought too, but the fenders really didn't survive removal. The right side one looked rusty on the outside, but the inner made it look solid. It was hashed. I think a battery may have exploded at one point; there wasn't much for a battery to sit on. I do think I am going to leave it the same color; it has a funky 70's vibe, and isn't obnoxious. I have even had a chance to see some progress lately.
