Re: How many car projects?

Right after I got married, I bought, fixed and sold some cars. At one point, I had 7 fixers in the back yard. The landlord wanted them gone, so I had to thin the herd. That was 41 years ago. I got an aerospace/defense job after that that I had to commute for and spent years out of state for it, to boot. I have no projects in the queue except for the engine in my truck, which is hopefully only an R&R job.

Re: How many car projects?

At one point I had a '71 Blazer sitting at my house, a '70 Blazer in the next county at my friend's farm, and a '72 Blazer at the far end of the state on the family farm. All projects. Here I also had a '72 K/20, a '71 K/10 SWB, a '72 SWB BBC, a '71 C/30 wrecker, and a '70 C/30, all projects. I didn't want to be bored once retired . I also had a list of six running and registered classic GM Trucks. I haven't had this few vehicles since the '70s when I was in my teens. Come to think of it, I only had one vehicle for less than a year before buying a parts car and another for the engine swap. I've always driven older stuff at least 20 years old and necessity has it where you need your stash. I didn't know this was a hobby. I thought it was a way of life!

Re: How many car projects?

Pretty proud of myself, everything in my signature is a running/driving licensed and insured vehicle, all except the firebird.

I really need to sell 1 or 2 but I get so attached to them, they all have a different purpose/style. If I was pushed... I think I'd be OK with letting the 11 Mustang and 68 firebird go.

Re: How many car projects?

I only have 2 not drivable right now my 68 Stepper and the 69 AMX . I could probably have the AMX running in a weekend bit finding the time is the problem . Not bad for having 9 collector vehicles .

Re: How many car projects?

Im right in the middle of a 1965 c10 build. Just sold a 66 step side I worked on. I have a 66 in the woods with a short frame beside it and the bed for it on my trailer. I also have a 67 impala ss in dry storage waiting for me. I drive a 79 bronco everyday so I am working on it in between times of the chevys

Re: How many car projects?

I wouldn't know how to act without at least one project and another in waiting

Re: How many car projects?

I have the five in my signature. The 81 is for all intents and purposes, 99% done now, although there is always something I would like to improve on it. I am seriously considering making it a 73 clone, but I have to remind myself that I have other things I should put my time and money into.

I was told by a friend that you will never be happy unless you focus on one at a time, but that's really hard!
