Truck Audio SQ examples.

So I was reading a discussion on DIYA forum about what CD's or tracks people play in their setups to showcase it. Most of the crap they listed I would never listen to, but I have strange tastes.

But I decided to put together a CD I now keep in my truck to show off with and I wanted to know what others might use. I know some of this group may not dig it, but this track from C2C has a great mix of tones, sound separation, frequency levels and a solid bass note.

I love this video because Richie Jackson can f@cking skate.

My shallow 10 lacks the deep bottom end I like, but overall does a good job with it.

Re: Truck Audio SQ examples.

I've always liked Incubus for SQ testing. Great range with very crisp highs. Especially this one in acoustic (Pardon Me, acoustic)

For more acoustic love, Iron and Wine will punish you if you dont have a clear amp and good mid range (Sodom, South GA)

Really interesting sound with a great deal of range (Imogen Heap, Hide and Seek)

Edit: apparently this board doesnt like VBB language

Re: Truck Audio SQ examples.

wait wait. is that like a bass tape we used to have in the 90s. I think I had a bass cd too but it skipped bad with 4 12's. Then they invented those fancy non skipping cd players. You kids with your mp3 whipper snappers.

Re: Truck Audio SQ examples.

I like Green Grass N High Tides for mid/high and just pure volume of guitar solos,
for bass I like Galvanize by Chemical Brothers, or if I'm going more hip-hop lately I've been doing A$AP.

Not my cup of tea typically but try Rock It by Herbie Hancock.

I tune depending on what the person listens too...BUT I have found that Maroon 5's Songs about Jane has a LOT to work with in terms of tuning....people look at me funny when I take that CD out to tune...LOL!

Steely Dan's Aja on CD

Oddly, Jimmy Buffett's License to Chill has Throbbing Bass to it, and good highs well recorded.

Hoping to find out soon in my '09.

Re: Truck Audio SQ examples.

This is probably a bit unscientific but I'm planning to buy a new car in a month or three and this is what I plan to pop in to check out the stereo.
