Firewall replace??
I need to replace the firewall and have no idea how I'm going to hold it in place to plug weld it.
Does anyone have any tips and tricks for doing this? Thanks

Use Cleco clips or sheet metal screws.

If your doing a overlapped seam , then Clecos X2....all you'll have is 1/8 holes where they were..start in the center and work out to the ends

I learned to use clecos when I worked at Boeing in 1966 and they are great for holding overlapping panels. We would use the pre drilled rivet holes for them on aircraft panels.
They are spring loaded so you can't get them hot. I got a kit off Ebay a year or two ago to use on overlapping panels.

I agree clecos the best way but you can also use self tapping screws to hold a panel in place where clamps don't work. In this pic you can see the clecos holding my firewall in place

I love the arched look of the AD firewalls.
I want to move my engine back slightly , But I know I'll have some intake clearance issues. |

I have heard of guys using a steel wheel barrow tub for an engine set back in the firewall. already formed to look like it was supposed to be there for the classic year.

I've seen the wheelbarrow firewall before. I actually picked up a Radio Flyer wagon with the same thought process. Since I did my MII install, everything changed, so I need to go up and back. LOW AD's firewall is exactly what I need. Back to the drawing board, I guess.

My buddy used a wheelbarrow in his Model A roadster and it worked pretty good. Used to be you could find a new metal garden wheelbarrow for about 20 bucks this time of year new but most are plastic now.
LS Fab makes some nice bead rolled firewalls For AD trucks but don't show any recesses. https://lsfab.ca/product-category/4754/ One would have to ask about the size of the opening around the engine though.

I used wide-jaw vice grips and those big triangular welding magnets.
