55.2-59 advice needed : is there a good or bad for connecting pully's on a SBC350

Now that we’re in lockdown in most of Europe, I jumped on the Chevy project again …
Installed the engine (SBC350) and now wanna install the v-belts… I only need to connect 4 pully’s : crank, water pump, power steering pump and alternator.
Is there a proper way of connecting them ? Should I do it with 1 belt, or more ?
Or is it just a matter of getting them turning…

If you use a serpentine belt system you could run one belt with idler pulleys...
Stock arrangement is usually crank,alt,waterpump on one belt....crank and ps on another belt
But there are different configurations as well

I used https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ICB-551745 on my truck.

Note, you need the "long waterpump" for this kit.

Also note, with serpentine, you need a waterpump that is designed to work with serpentine as I believe it then turns the other way round.

easily done with one belt with alt & ps pump on one side, similar to my motor
though if you split them up and use 2 belts, your water pump still turns if you lose one belt

Did all of the pieces come with the engine?

Are all the brackets factory equipment for that engine?

What do you have now?

One thing I absolutely hate to see is guys who post their 1000 dollar fixes for a 50 dollar problem. The "dude you need to spend money on this" or "you just have to have that" simply because that is what the poster always wanted is nonsense unless you are asking for specifics on aftermarket units and a comparison.

If you have the correct pulleys you can do pretty much as Ogre showed for the price of the correct size belts.
Note that one belt drives the fan, alternator and power steering while the other again drives the fan/water pump but drives the AC compressor. That is primarily because it simplifies the belt angles on the AC

@_Ogre : Thx for the pictures, your setup is like mine (besides the airco)

@mr48chevy : pully's for the crank and waterpump came with the engine. Alternator is the old one that I'm reusing, and the PS is a Borgeson pump with the standard bracket.

All pulley's line up, so I guess it will be just measuring the length of the v-belts and install them.
