'05 Tahoe Key Fob Eating Batteries?

We've had our '05 Tahoe for about the last 18 months or so and for the most part are satisfied with it. We do miss the cloth interior and cargo doors of our previous '99 Tahoe but the leather interior and rear hatch do work, just not our preference. Can't always get what you want when you buy used tho.

The problem that has recently started is I have had to change the battery in MY key fob three times within the last two months. My wife's fob works fine altho I'm sure mine is used more often when we go somewhere together. Is that a normal life time for such an item? I have done the learning process each time and the fob works fine for several weeks and then....nothing. Wife's fob continues to work fine. Any one have some thoughts on what is causing my fob to only work for such a short time with new batteries? Have been using Duracell CR 2032 batteries consistently.

I will say I am less than impressed with the fact that GM has done away with the passenger side keyed door lock. Must be a rather small cost savings for such an expensive vehicle when it was built. Further cheapening of the product and a bit of an inconvenience for the end user at purchase.
