Re: show photos of your bench seats

Not exactly a bench, aftermarket 40/20/40 seat. Bought it at a swap meet couple years ago and modified the brackets to fit existing bench seat floor mounting holes. VERY comfortable.
The ashtray has my home made red neck drink cup holder attached. Found another ashtray in a salvage yard, cleaned it up and rattle canned it for a close match.

Re: show photos of your bench seats

Wasn't really all that hard, just took some trial and error attempts. I bought a set of bench seat rails/mounting brackets from a board member who was trashing a seat. Done some looking and measuring and then cut just the mount brackets that had the floor mount bolt holes in them. If I remember correctly I had to trim the bracket down from the original heighth to get the seat to "feel" right. Still think I need to trim it some more to lower it some. Sits good but think I could get some more adjustment backwards if I lowered the brackets. I moved my in-cab tank to under the bed so have quite a bit of room behind the seat for storage. Truck is sleeping in winter storage right now so will have to wait for warmer weather.

Re: show photos of your bench seats

My wife gave up a part of the guest room until I can get the cab wired and the doors back up to "speed"....I believe I was told that this bench seat came out of a "71 GMC. It's going into the '68 cab.

Re: show photos of your bench seats

A bench seat out of a '92 GMC or Chevy will fit. My nephew put one in a '72 C-10, but had to drill some holes to bolt it down. He put some plates under the cab for strength.

Re: show photos of your bench seats

The seat is out of a 1988 Silverado. It sits lower than the stock seat because the bottom cushion slants toward the back, and it has no head rests so it fits below the back glass. It is very comfortable for three across, and the best part is I took it out of a boneyard truck for $28.00.
