DBW Accelerator Pedal Options

Trying to figure out the best/cheapest way to get an working accelerator pedal installed in this swap. Using a 2006 6.0/4L80E. I kept the pedal assembly out of the donor but it was an adjustable style and don't want to deal with all that extra bracketry etc. I did see a guy that used a pedal assy out of a 1996-2000 C3500. Says bolts right up and then you just have to swap 2 wires in the interface cable.

Anyone use this pedal in their swap?

The 05+ Corvette pedal looks identical to the 71-72 pedal, even accepts the SS trim. It is bolt in with Hart Rod's bracket. Have this setup in my 72. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=631165

As Richard stated, I used a Corvette pedal. I made the bracket that bolts tot he firewall, but many people make them. I cut the pedal a bit shorter for myself, but I used all the chrome trim from a 72 pedal and it looks/works great.

My engine didn't come with the pedal or tac.. so I swapped it to dbc throttle.
The one I'm working on now has all the dbw stuff.. kinda wish I had swapped it to dbc
I think what Richard said will do the trick

Not sure if it is the same on the 2006, but my 2003 adjustable pedal had a smaller range or motion than the non adjustable of the same year.

I originally got a replacement non adjustable and my pedal sat kind of high. In a quest for maximum leg room, I sliced, diced and welded to get the adjustable pedal as close to the floor as I could when fully depressed.

For some reason the difference between truck and car pedals is two wires have to be swapped positions. When I used a car pedal on my swap (08 truck 5.3 Vortec) I had to swap two wires in the D and F positions at the pedal plug. The WH/BK and the BN ones.

A lot of these comments are not going to work on a GenIII engine. With a 2006, you are pretty much stuck with using a 2002-06 pedal. I have heard of people using the diesel pedal you posted a pic of, but others have had problems with it. Never personally tried one myself, so have no firsthand experience with it.

I don't think I've seen the adjustable style. my 2002 pedal mounted to hart robs bracket fit like a champ

This is what adjustable pedals look like. I think they came with well optioned vehicles. They have a cable driven gear box on them to adjust the height. I've heard of people removing the adjustable part and replacing it with a permanent link of some sort, once they figure correct height.

Yeah I heard you have to use the original TAC module from the 2006, the earlier pedal assembly along with the earlier wiring harness, with a couple wires swapped. Have the TAC pinout for the 2006 TAC module/ pedal assy, just need to find the pinout for the 2000 setup so I know I get the connecting harness pinned out correctly.


It is my understanding the the big difference between the 2 setups is that the earlier units use 3 potentiometers in the pedal while the later version only use 2. But from everything I read the first 2 that used are the same in both eras. So when using the earlier pedal with the later TAC module it just ignores the 3rd potentiometer.

ohhhh, then i have seen them, just never out of the truck!

OP, is there a reason you dont want to use the 2002-2006 pedal with the TAC box? seems like the easiest and cheapest option

If I go get a non-adjustable pedal (cause I don't want to have to slice and dice my adjustable) 2002-2006 pedal then I have either buy a mounting bracket or figure one out myself. If I have to buy a pedal anyways and I just buy the 2000 C3500 pedal it bolts right into the 69 factory mounting holes and I just have to swap two wires on the harness connector.

No I looked for that picture out of curiosity. I used a car pedal that came with my Gen IV truck motor I got from a guy who collected everything for his swap and changed plans.

The first DBW Corvettes 1999-2001 (The first adapters in the GM line) require their own TAC module. It is expensive and impossible to find. Be sure to avoid that unit.
