700r4 problems after rebuild. please help

Hey y'all, I'm new to the site but I had a 700r4 with the auxiliary valve body rebuilt buy a friend of the familly who has built many without any problems what so ever. This is the second time he's built this tranny and it has the same problem it did the last time he rebuilt it. And yes the t.v. cable is adjusted correctly haha. But when you take off normally the shifts are very very weak and you have to let out of the throttle to get it to go in overdrive but the weird thing is if I put it down in first and manually shift it it will bark 2nd and go in 3 like normally. The only thing he hasn't replaced in the trannyis the govoner. He put a Corvette servo all new clutches new performance band new drum new t.v cable new lip seals. New gears in the front pump which he says rarly go bad. Also the throttle is hard to mash down if that tells you anything. Any help y'all can give me would be much appritiated. Thanks, John

Re: 700r4 problems after rebuild. please help

the 700r4 is a hard cat to build, if your rebuilding the trans why would you not replace the Governor? it could be bad as thats the only part reused i'd start there, you must know what your doing with a 700r4 they are weak transmissions

My tranny did the let out to go into overdrive when I had a diamond weight govoner in it. Put in a stock one all was better. As for the first second thing you need to have a good 1-4 servos in it and how did the tv get set?
