1993 Suburban. Extremely well maintained. No obvious leaks, no wet carpet that I have found. But after a good rain, if is is outside there is a slight musty smell. So I have to think there is a leak somewhere.

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas and if there is an area that it common to leak?

My 97 Suburban and my Father's 99 Sierra Classic (88-98 body style) leak at the windshield. He had his windshield replaced and that fixed the leak. I covered the area in windshield urethane and that has at least slowed it down a bit.

Get inside and have someone spray it down with a hose.

Not knowing your situation, I can only recommend certain things that may or may not apply.

One spot that leaks that people forget about is the high mounted brake light.

But even before you check that, suppose you always park your vehicle outside with no cover. Now suppose it's not leaking but high humidity is causing your issue. Can you or did you ever park it under a cover or in a garage when it has rained but still notice the smell? See where I'm going with this?

The top of the windshields must leak because it's common for that area to rust, which is found when replacing the windshield. My '92 had rust starting when I replaced a cracked windshield, but I never noticed any water or moisture inside. No musky odors

Cab lights can leak, so the 3rd brake like makes sense

Get what you are saying but it lives in the garage. Only happens if driven in the rain. This week we were on a trip so it was outside in the rain when that smell appears. Rain quit, it goes away quickly.

Windshield was one I was thinking off. I have seen a lot of GM's with leaking windshields over the years.

I have seen them leak around the cowl to heatbox area also. When it rains, or rains heavy it some how gets into the heater box assembly. The AC/heat then dries it out pretty quick and smell goes away. I know this was a much bigger issue on the 99 up models, but have heard/seen it with these years.
