Floating AD

Anyone remember seeing this? Back in the 70's when Cubans were fleeing Cuba in any way they could, they tried to use anything that would float to get them to the USA. Many of them drowned trying to get here, but the ones on this AD were fortunate. The Coast Guard picked them up and returned them to Cuba, but sadly they sank this AD that had been fitted with floats. It was a sad end to this truck.

Re: Floating AD

There are a bunch of photos of that truck. I figure that they ran the prop shaft off the pto drive.

Those guys are probably still in a Cuban prison for trying to escape that wonderful life under socialism.

You might be right, but seems a lot older than that to me. I had tried to find this pic on line before and never could. How did you find it to date it?

Re: Floating AD

When I originally tried to find pics of that truck I couldn't find any, now there is plenty of pictures of it and other floating attempts to get to this country. Maybe this should be shown to high school and college students.

Re: Floating AD

Yep they seem to want to turn this country into the mess that those guys risk their lives to get away from because they think that they will have everything for free.

They also forget that even their "dream" countrys system hits working people with around a 60 % income tax and then other taxes on top of that. Free isn't free when you actually work for a living.

Post Reality Check

They are fleeing communism, a very different thing from socialism .

Sad that the C.G. sank the truck, I wish it had been saved and put in a museum .

Re: Floating AD

Just an advanced stage of socialism Nate. First the promises of the free stuff an then the oppression that is coming in place in Cali now after you are sucked in.

Just count the number of hot rod and car related businesses that have packed up and moved out of California in the past five years and tell me how well your socialist state of Cali works.

That is all we need of politics on this board though.

Post B.s.

You're dead wrong but I'll drop it here .

Everyone who can't make it in California is envious and spews endless ignorant and untrue hate diatribes .

We're doing just fine thankyouverymuch .
