Re: New Project!

Went with a repop rad support. Got the new radiator installed after a week of looking for a bottom hose. And best of all l got the new motor fired for the 1st time. It was a good day in the barn!

Looking good so far.

I'm thinking your wife was right about the name for it (the Money Pit, because they all are)

Which radiator setup did you go with?

Sub'd.

Its the Entropy radiator. It was pricey but seems very well built. It fit well too.

Re: New Project!

Thanks doc & Kevin. The orange really grew on me after seeing the truck above. I don’t have a chrome grille like that truck does tho. I’ll go with orange or white on that. Not sue yet.

Re: New Project!

What was the holdup on the lower radiator hose???

I thought you might have run the plug wires under the headers??? but did not...

I had a hard time finding a lower hose that would work with my Serpentine system and aftermarket radiator. An “old guy” at the advance warehouse got into the paper catalogs and fixed me up with one that works. Never underestimate the value of experience!

Plug wires are not in their permanent home yet. Just did enough to get the new motor fired and make sure everything was ok.

Re: New Project!

She's starting to look like a truck again. Finding out that it's pretty rewarding when you get to start bolting things back on. Everything is painted except for the bed and hood. I hope to get all of the paint done before it gets cold.

Paint done, Doors assembled, 95% wired, bed wood ready to finish, gauges installed, even fired the motor last weekend.

Re: New Project!

Thanks doc. I like the orange too. This is about the best shot I can get from the inside of my wood shop/mechanic shop/wife’s winter greenhouse.

The gauges are Dakota digital Rtx.

Re: New Project!

Looks awesome! I'm diggin' the slots! I just finished a 67 GMC with a 5.3 and the RTX gauges, love 'em! Welcome from the KC gang, there's a bunch of great cats here from the Metro. We all get together in September at the All Truck Nats and Eat like kings and drink beer for two days. Hope to see this truck around this year!
