Dave if you decide to replace the P/S box use CPP #CP 50006C

Currently 15% off at Ecklers classic Chevy

# 5559PA-T pitman arm also needed
Stock Modified steering column
New drag link

This mounts in the stock location so the drag link geometry stays stock .

Ya I know more money but this is what I planned to do to it if I kept the stock suspension .

Yeah, that's the one I'm thinking of...I probably just need to remove the factory box and diagnose.
