Header questions

I'm to the point where I want to finish my steering but I need to decide on headers or performance manifolds. The setup I'm working with: LS, TCI frame and engine mounts.

After some searching, it looks like people have used Trailblazer SS manifolds, Corvette C5 manifolds, Hooker headers (manifolds 8501's), and Sanderson headers which appear to be purpose built for our trucks, but pricey. Right now, I'm leaning toward the hookers or Sanderson.

For those that have my setup, do you have any thoughts or feedback on any of the above? At the end of the day, I don't want exhaust leaks. I've had the most success in the past with a ball end on the collector and three studs, but I'm not sure I can achieve this with my setup. Thanks.

Re: Header questions

Sanderson =$$$ no matter what they fit. Some times they are all that does fit though.

TCI frame = independent front end and no steering box fight.

You might look into the offerings from Flowtech for LS headers. They have a number of styles that you can pick from.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: Header questions

Or you can play pick a number on Ebay https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...ders+&_sacat=0

Outside of the ones that drop down way too far any LS swap headers for 60/87 Chevy trucks should work.
