door latch

HI
ANyone got any experience with new oem doorlatches

https://www.ebay.com/itm/19373997561...QaAj7pEALw_wcB

thinking about replacing my passenger side as under certain circumstances the latch can slip over the internal mechanism ..... and cause latch to become disabled.

These ok for the $$ ?

Re: door latch

that's all i used on truk, fakky
i bought repop hinges, latches and strikers from brotherstrucks.com
i'd rather deal with brothers for service, rather than some unknown guy on ebay
probably one manufacturer makes them for all vendors

there's really no reason not to use new oem style latches on our trucks
they are the safety double latch style, like all the newer vehicles
definitely get new oem style striker plates at the same time
i've never had an unintentional unlatch since i installed them

the ebay is a $104 vs brothers at $49 each side ($98)
but you pay for shipping with brothers
that why i suggest buying hinges, latches and strikers at one time

Re: door latch

Thanks.

I just bought that one to try ....... as I had itchy fingers ...... if I don't like it might wait for a coupon on altman bear claw latches and just be done.

Didn't think of the striker .......

Re: door latch

ok - so trieds this - and itys WAY better in teh sense that once the door closes - it feels secure and tight.
However ..... shutting it is still a bit messy and have to slam pretty hard.

So .... thinking about going with kit from hotrodlatches.com

Does anyone know someone thats done a non-altman bearclaw install .... want to run a few questions by them on alignment and window track and so on.

Also have to come up with a mechanism to let the door push buttons work.

Re: door latch

I have repop oem latches and they work fine. Until the last couple of cruises and on a bumpy road my drive side door pops open. If I can't figure out how to stop it, will look at installing Altman latches.

I replaced mine with the OEM type and have had no issues. If you still have to slam the door in order for it to close, you may still need to adjust them a little bit. I used to have to have mine, but no longer.
