Rear Ratios

What are the available rear end ratios for a 69-70. This 4:11 is killing me on the trips. TF

3.07 ,3.73 ,4.11 and 4.56 and 5.13 in 3/4 ton and larger you could put a 3.73 ring and pinion or mabe even a 3.54? in your 4 series carrier if you wanted to or just swap the whole rear from another truck...

3.07 will lower your rpms for hiway driving, but you'll sacrifice power and acceleration off the line... it's hard to have your cake and eat it too, unless you get an overdrive trans and keep the 4.11s....

For a good compomise, I ran a set of 3.40 gears(75 12 bolt), & a saginaw 4 spd from a monza(3.50 first gear). a tire smoker on take off, & would cruise 3000 rpms @ 70 mph. the only drawback is those saginaws arent real stout.......I got 25000 mi on that on before a 6500 rpm shift to 3rd made shrapnel out of it!
