Re: Gas Prices?

My wife had Murphy Rewards at Wal Mart. She paid $2.19 yeaterday.

Plastic water bottles stick in my craw.

And plastic bags. At least plastic bags have other uses and can be recycled.

Re: Gas Prices?

Wish they would go back to glass bottles for sodas and do a bottle return $$ like they used to do. Maybe wouldn't have so much trash laying along side of the roads.

I agree

I Still have some Wooden crates to hold those bottles.

Gas prices are still floating $2.90 / $3.20 here

Re: Gas Prices?

I fill reused quart glass jars for my cooler. I have been freezing the same plastic water bottle for over a year to cool it with. I can't believe how fast and how many plastic bags I accumulate. I'm trying to get into the habit of using the reusable bags. I did last night. A couple counties around here charge a nickel apiece. I'd be fine with paper. They should pay the nickel

Back to gas prices. I'll let you know later this week

Paid $4.15 for premium in Phoenix last weekend. Only got enough to get me back to payson to fill up where it was 75c cheaper.

Re: Gas Prices?

No plastic grocery bags at any store here except for veggies and the like . Plastic soda and water bottles have a 5 cent deposit . Glass wont make a comeback to heavy and bulky for transport.

Gas is one thing but they are calling for 3 to 4 gallon fuel oil . Lot af people are going to be cold this winter

Re: Gas Prices?

I put 30 bucks in my T Bird today. It went from a quarter tank to half a tank.

I never fill my cars up because I don't drive them enough. I don't want the gas going bad. I only deal with bad gas when I eat Mexican food. That's worth it.

Re: Gas Prices?

Hit $3.09 here today. Last year at this time we were $1.79 per gallon for 87 octane unleaded. Buck/30 a gallon in just under a year's time.

Re: Gas Prices?

Damn Pete 3.84 no ethanol premium!! You lucky dog! The Camaro hasn’t come out near as much this year partially because premium is so high, well that and I haven’t had much time with the new little one. I blame it on the gas, sounds better than blaming it on a baby haha.

Re: Gas Prices?

My prices are about the same as DeadheadNM.

We have one station near me with a cash price for regular unleaded at $3.89.. They are lined up for that place. Granted, there are no other stations for miles..

Re: Gas Prices?

$3.35 here today in lower Delaware, 10’ increase from yesterday.
Brandon's summer home is six miles from my home and is currently having a "large" permanent perimeter fence/wall installed.
I can only wonder why...

Definitely a mystery there.

I wonder why? They tell us that "walls don't work" Seems silly to waste money on it?

I paid $3.19 today, but it was the outlier, most of the other stations were at $3.29.

Another thing that I don't remember being talked about in this thread is the tax? Around here at least, it has to say the tax right on the pump. It is even split up to Federal and state percentages too. Right now it is $0.20 to the Fed and $0.389 to the state.
So 59 cents per gallon, when subtracted form the actual gas a year ago meant that the price was $1.20 and now it is $2.60....well more than double

Hit $3.19 for 87 octane ethanol today. Up another dime within a week's time. Thought gas was supposed to go down as we get closer to the "winter blend" season that all the talking heads speak of?

I remember those days. Most of my family was in the PNW and had gas rationing. I was working in the midwest and didn't see rationing, but there were shortages. I was nearly out of gas on the Kansas turnpike (stretched Dodge Maxivan with 2 tanks and a 38 gallon capacity) and stopped at the only station. They would only sell 5 gallons at a time and I was not too happy about that. You're dead right that Brandon makes Carter look good.
