my first build... 72 c20

hi everybody! i just joined after looking through some threads and figured this would be the best place for information on buiding my c20. the story behind the truck: my dad passed away at 43 in nov. 2009 and i recently found out from my mom that when i was born my dad had a 72 c10. i decided that i really wanted to have the same type of truck my dad had. i mentioned it to a friend and she said her father in law had one that he only wanted 1000 bucks for and it ran and drove. so now, on a mild impulse, i now have a 72 c20 with a 350/350 and really just need to know where to start. any help would be fantastic. i recently dropped the front chopping the springs (shady, i know) and after a major tune up i did headers with dual 3" mufflers. any ideas on what to do next?

Welcome to the board. What I would next if it is going to be a daily driver is check the brakes, brake lines, replace any brake hoses, grease wheel bearings, etc.

My philosophy on tires is the same as cigarettes. "smoke them if you got them"

I did front brakes with calipers on it as the right one was working. i think it needs a booster though. the pedal is really hard to push down.

Nick. I have a similiar truck. It looks like you have rear leaf suspension with the original rear factory bumpers. Mine is missing the rear bumper and I'm I bought new brackets but they don't seem to fit. If its not to much trouble could you take photos on what the bumper brackets look like and how they attach to the bumper? THanks
