Square body bend fix...

How are guys that are laying frame straightening out the Catalytic Converter bend on the drivers side of the frame? When the truck is laid out, it's got a pretty distinctive lean, that's kind of an eyesore...

I don't know if I can get a sledge underneath with enough force... in my garage.

I have a torch but not sure if the heat will compromise the frame strength... Anyone got any pointers?

I've searched but all I found were guys that said they straightened, but know specific details.

Re: Square body bend fix...

I did my son's truck. I cut a few slits with a cut off wheel on a grinder, then hammered it flat using a large hammer and a heavy piece of steel as a back up. I then welded the slits top and bottom and ground them smooth.

Look in this thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=418618&page=8
Post #179 , fourth picture down. Welded up, but not ground down yet...
